Futuristic Sailor Mars

Yay I got Mars done just in time for Anime Expo. I hope to see you guys there! I'll be seating at H22. Please come by and see this print in person!

Mars is the roman sign of god of war, thus I was really struggling whether Mars should be more technological or more magical in the futuristic form. I was thinking about adding talisman in the art work, but it was getting too crowded, so I took it out. lol. I didn't really put anything on her wrist, because most of her attacks are really from inner strength. I got inspired from the old design of Mars the manga book (book 2 in the end Link). The manga book design had more ribbons on the chest, so I gave her a different chest plate than Sailor Moon. I tried to maintain the simple red heel design by giving her just red lines at the end of her shoes. I like flats for the warriors because I like to think most girls would agree that heels are almost impossible to run in (especially sailor Mar's). Sailor Mar's shoes didn't cover much, so I gave her leg plates (since I believe the sailor soldiers would see more battles than sailor moon herself especially when she becomes queen ). I also try not stray from my original futuristic style too much to maintain consistency. The color choices are from Sailor Mar's anime uniform, dark purple and red. Going back to the anime, the marking on Sailor Mars would be too awkward on the head, so I put it in her chest pin.
