One Day

<sub>Dozen people came to play,
One heart lingered and stayed.
Heads in illusive motion,
One mind saw a notion.

"Hold on tight"
Don't lose the fight,
"Will you go?"
There will be no tomorrow

For me.

Hands of warmth,
May built a hearth,
It takes one hope,
to start the loop.

"To be with you"
In whatever you do.
"You can't."
You can’t even find

Me.

Lost in dozens of bugs,
Lost in the ocean of rugs.
Worry in guilt,
Mind, body, stood still.

"Please, please don’t go."
My heart is in unknown.
"You'll understand"
One day you'll stand

On your own.

Stood without a clue,
Must start over new.
Memories will stay though...

...Even if you weren't mine...

This one is really close to my heart. I drew it for this poem. I was walking one day at school, and one of the lines from this poem I wrote popped into my head. I looked for the poem, and when I found it I still felt the same way about this poem when I wrote it about three years ago.

At the same time when I started to work on this art it was around 9/11. When I read the poem after I was done with the sketch, I felt like the victims of 9/11 can also relate to this art work.

I want to tell a little about the poem here. It's that when something's gone, it doesn't necessarily means they are gone forever. There's always a part of them here with you. And although the pain of them leaving is hard, the courage to start over without them is harder. But "one day you'll stand on your own."
